I admit that if Orchid (one of my favorite local bands) wasn't on this bill I probably would have passed on this show. Although I have always been a fan of Pentagram, I just wasn't in the mood to see how far vocalist Bobby Liebling had fallen, given his recent troubles. Luckily he kept his shit together long enough to make it to San Francisco, and believe it or not, he and his hired hands (which included Spirit Caravan drummer Gary Isom) managed to put on a pretty killer set of of Pentagram classics. Bobby sounded great, and was without a doubt one of the most entertaining front men I have ever witnessed.
I really intended on taking pictures of the whole band, but Bobby's wacked out, shrunken head like facial expressions pretty much had me captivated, and since I was literally 5 feet in front of him I couldn't help but photograph him the entire night. Check out more photos here, and also be sure to check out Hard Rock Chick's review of the show. She's more METAL than any of the douche bag hipsters that were in attendance, and her thoughts on the show are spot on.
